About
Developed by the Bipartisan Commission on Biodefense, The Apollo Program for Biodefense aims to position the U.S. to better defend against all biological threats, empower public health, and prevent pandemics, no matter what the source.
Winning the Race Against Biological Threats
In January 2021, the Bipartisan Commission on Biodefense issued Winning the Race Against Biological Threats. This comprehensive report outlines realistic and achievable recommendations that can bolster the Nation’s defense against biological threats.
The report also recalls the many times in our history when the U.S. has taken on grand technological challenges in times of great need, such as the Apollo Program to bring us to the Moon.
The need today for effective biodefense is just as great, but with the latest scientific advances the challenge is more achievable than ever.
The Commission
The Bipartisan Commission on Biodefense is a privately funded entity established in 2014. The Commission comprehensively assesses the status of U.S. biodefense efforts and issues recommendations to create meaningful change.
